Biography: Hattie Rivers Aikens, 89, was born May 10, 1928 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was the first child of James and Netttie Singleton Rivers.Hattie is predeceased by husband Larry , daughter, Son Clyde and Three Brothers Walter, Ira, and Stanley. She grew up in Manhattan attending the public schools graduating from Central High School.
Hattie worked for many years in the credit department of Gimbels Department Stores. In later years, she also worked for Bankers Trust. At an early age Hattie was baptized and sang in the youth choir of Central Baptist Church.in later years she joined Antioch Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her memory two sisters Jennie Armstrong and Alberta Rivers, Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and a host of friends.
