On May 4, 2023 beloved mother, Nanna, niece, cousin and friend, Alva Solomon, departed this world. Born in Belize City,  Belize; Central America. Alva was the first born child of Ms. Delice Ethlena Murray (deceased) and Mr. Lesmore Smith (Deceased). Growing up in Belize, the precocious (facey) Young Alva lived on Tigris street, right next to “Granny and them”! (Right next to her grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins). 

The Life of Alva Solomon  
Alva Alberta Solomon was born on December 14, 1949 to Mrs. Delice Murray and Mr. Lesmore Smith.  In the 1970’s, Alva migrated to the United States, took up residence in New York.  She did domestic work, and put herself through Beauty school.  Alva worked very hard as a beautician and took great pride in her craft.Alva LOVED TO COOK! She always had people over for food and conversation. Alva took great pleasure as family and friends savored and devoured her creations.  As well as the family cook and baker, she was the unofficial record keeper. If you needed a recipe or to find out who a family member is or how they are related; Alva would find it for you. If you “got a taste for some bun”, you will get a phone call in about a week, “come pick up your bun, I just pull it out the oven!”  Everyone adopted Alva as their  other mother, she loved them all. Alva was always willing to help all you had to do was ask.

Preceded in death by; her parents Delice Murray (mother), Lesmore Smith (father), Gwenyth Murray and Beverly Budd (sisters) and Mr. Goldie Solomon (husband). Survived by her children; Kaydell Sedacy-Best (Pinky) and Shawn Meighn and Vantyne Meighn God-daughter/ Niece; Patricia Rowland-Cintron; God-son/ Nephew; Tyrell Yorke Grand children; Trystan Meighn, Autumn Meighn, Aries Meighn, Skye Meighn and Christine Santiago  Siblings, Brothers: Roy Flowers, Clive Murray, Douglas Yorke, Glen Smith. Sisters: Shirleen Yorke, Sadra Smith (Williams), Sandra Smith (Humes), Lisa Smith Wanda Smith and Carol Brown Living Maternal Aunt; Olive Fox, in California A host of cousins living in Belize, California, Miami, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. Her dear friends: Ms. Zelma Usher, Erla Arnold, Jeanette Morrison and Daisy Tracey.  As well as a whole host of friends, too numerous to mention.
