Celebration of life
On Sunday, October 1, 2023, as God visited his garden of everlasting life, he noticed a vacant area in the garden. He then summoned his Angel of death to visit Viola and filled that vacant area. Viola Doretha Carney (better known as Connie), daughter of the late Jeffrey and Pearl Carney, was born March 1, 1921 in Rocky Mount, NC. Viola Carney was called home on October 1, 2023. Viola was reared in Rocky Mount, and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Rocky Mount, NC class of 1938. After graduating from Booker T. Washington, Viola wanted to better herself. Forever friends It has been an amazing journey. Seventy years of love, laughter and the many experiences that we shared as
BEST FRIENDS. A term you coined when we were very young, to describe our friendship. My dearest Doe, my sister and friend, I Love You more than words can even express. I am so grateful for the things that you have said, the ways that you have supported me, and the time we spent together. God has blessed us with a lifelong friendship. Now that you are in his presence, I know you are at peace.

Love Always Your Best Friend Bea

My journey has just begun
Don’t think of me as gone away, my journey just begun Life holds so many
facets, this earth is but one. Just think of me as resting from the sorrows
and the tears, In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days
and years. Think of how I must be wishing that you could know today, how
nothing but your sadness can really go away, and think of me as living in
the hearts of those I touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost and I know, I was loved.

The Family would like to send a special thank you to Owens Funeral Home and Convent Baptist Church.
A very special thank you to Beatrice Combs for your Love, friendship and dedication
to Viola Carney and the family throughout the years.
And a very special thank you to Sandra Mercer for your friendship and dedication.
