Biography: Mary Etta Lawson, wife of Edward Jr Lawson passed away peacefully in her sleep September 14th , 2023. She was born in Conway, Sc, on November 30th, 1942, daughter of late Garfield Givens and Laura Givens. A sister of eight siblings and their spouses, also a loving mother of two sons Jimmy Brown and Kenny Lawson. Three grandchildren Kawanda Hopkins, Jermaine Durant, and Deshawn Durant leading with nine great grandchildren Malquisha Durant, Melayan Hopkins, Anaija Hopkins, Svotheria Durant, Teshawava Durant, Deshawn irDurant, laahazDurant, Isaiah Durant Taxionna Durant, and King Durant ending with her seven great great grandchildren.

Mary was a devoted loving wife who dedicated her life to serving the Lord and praying over her family. She was the ideal of a grandmother warm meals huge heart a true woman in Christ. She spent her younger years as a caretaker/nurse than settled down with her husband in Harlem New York. Our best childhood memories were in her home with beautiful decorative Christmas's and all nighter fun singing on her karaoke machines. She was the rock to our family, and it was her hard work and determination that made this family strong and resilient. She was guidance and light to all whom known her, she was also the type of woman who knew what you needed before saying a word and leave her home having more wisdom than what you came with. She will be deeply missed by so many family and loved ones.
