Biography:

Leroy Berrien was born March 20th , 1965, in Harlem Hospital (NY, NY) to the late Barbara Berrien and Anthony Berrien. He received his education through the New York Public School system. He grew up in Harlem on 113th street where he was given his nickname “Ski” and later resided on 142nd street where he was very well loved and respected by his community. In his early years he worked in Mount Sinai Hospital as a Patient Care Technician.

Leroy was known for his fashionable outfits, his love for cars, and being a “Cool Dad”. He was a smooth talker and always respectful to his elders and women. He was very family oriented and loved spending his spare time in the house watching sports with his son and dog Coco. In true NY fashion, his favorite teams were the Knicks, Giants and Jets.

In his last year, as a widow he took on raising his youngest son Leroy Jr. with the help of family but unfortunately fell ill to Myeloma cancer.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memories his children Ke’Y, Tahj, Ladell, Larashia, Ladaysha, Neveah, Leroy Jr, and step daughter Brandi. His father Anthony Berrien [Angela Berrien], his sisters Wanda and Antoinette, his nieces Cayla and Briana and nephew Najee. His Aunts Pearl, Cynthia, Roslien and Uncles Robert, John, Gary. Tons of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Dawn Williams Berrien, his mother Barbara Berrien, his grandmother Eloise Collington, and his brother Anthony Berrien Jr.

Leroy will be missed tremendously.
