Biography:

Melvin Kent Anderson, 64, of New York, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in Lancaster, CA. He was born on March 4, 1959. Melvin was a beloved son, brother, and friend.

Melvin was known for his adventurous spirit and love for people. He spent many years abroad in Japan before returning to the United States. His outgoing nature and zest for life made him a cherished friend to many. In his leisure time, Melvin enjoyed outdoor activities. Whether it was hiking, or simply exploring nature's beauty; he found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Melvin also loved engaging in Stepping Events with his teammates as lead dancer.

Melvin attended Monroe High School in the Bronx, NY. This is where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. After completing his education, Melvin pursued a distinguished career in the Navy. He served for 24 years. His dedication and commitment to his military associations were

commendable and deeply respected.

Melvin is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Anderson. He is survived by his mother, Isabel Anderson of South Carolina, as well as, his five (5) brothers, Eugene (Lisa) Anderson and Gregory (Nicole) Anderson both of New York, Rondell (Renee) Anderson of Pennsylvania, Jackie (Reiko)

Anderson and Lamar (Theresa) Anderson both of Virginia, two (2) sisters Emelita Anderson of New Jersey and Hermenia Frederick of South Carolina. He leaves behind a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will deeply miss him.

Melvin Kent Anderson will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for people, and his unwavering dedication to his military service. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
