Biography: Ressie Rena King was born on February 15 th , 1964, in New York, NY to Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Verlean King. She attended Jane Adams High School in The Bronx where she obtained her high school diploma. Thereafter, Ressie began pursuing her Medical Billing certification at City College. Ressie was also known as Rena, but also adopted the nickname “Poochie” from the family. If you have ever crossed paths with Rena, she was a force not to reckon with. She always told it how it was, not how it should be. When Rena walked in the room, she always made a comical grand entrance. She would laugh and joke all night until your ribs hurt. Rena undoubtedly, and most importantly, remained strong through all of life’s challenges.
Rena leaves behind her mother Verlean King, sister Florence Elmore, children Tamara Bryant, Ronald King, and Taneisha Scott-King, grandchildren Raheam Jr., Christian and Carter, partner Mike Jones, nephews Albert Jr. and Allen followed by great nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many close friends whom she considered family.
