Richard Eric Gant, affectionately known as "Oleman," gained his wings on June 30, 2025, at the age of 51. He was Born in the Bronx, NYC, on March 31, 1974, Eric lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a deep love for his family and community.
Eric's journey began in the vibrant streets of the Bronx. He attended All Hallows High School, graduating in 1990. His thirst for knowledge led him to Morrisville College in Morrisville, NY. His professional life was equally marked by dedication. He started working at Able Fire extinguishers before joining FedEx in 1996, where he remained a valued employee until 2024. Throughout his career, Eric was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. He was a man of action and showed his love out loud and proud.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Eric was a man of many passions and a true testament to the power of connection. He was a devoted New York Knicks fan, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. Music and acting also held a special place in his heart, and he embraced these passions with enthusiasm. Eric was a key part of the "Unstoppable Crew," where he and his good friend, J.O., also known as "Joe" or David, hosted engaging podcasts, sharing their perspectives on the music industry and current events. His creativity extended to the world of film; he played one of the lead roles in the movie, "The Misconception of Donald Jones."
Eric's most defining characteristic was his unwavering love for his family. He was the heart and soul of his family. He always put family first and was always there to help his parents and significant other. Family was everything to Eric, and he was always there in a time of crises. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help those he loved defined his interactions and left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.
Eric is survived by his beloved partner, Tiffany Moton; his stepchildren, Brittany Moton, Donovan Moton, Tatiana Acevedo, and Skyler Denise; his sister, Denise Gant; and his loving parents, Connie and Richard Gant, aunts, cousins and a host of friends. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be cherished.
