Biography: John Griffin was born November 9,1958 to the late Charles Griffin and Shirley B. Spruell at Bellevue Hospital in   Manhattan, New York. Most of us know him as "True God", to his friends, he was known as "Johnny", to his  family and last but not least Papa to his grandchildren. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School after that, he     studied air conditioning and refrigeration amongst many other things. He accomplished many other things     throughout his lifetime such as having his own businesses.
 
His greatest accomplishment was raising four amazing  children, Richard Davis, Sheriff Lyerly, Kenya Davis and Jalah Davis. He wed Mignon Davis Griffin on May 6, 1982.
 
God called him home to rest from this life from Harlem Hospital on December 4, 2017.
 
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Richard Davis, Sheriff Lyerly, Kenya Davis and Jalah Davis; his grandchildren, Dominique, Jalah Jr., Keon, Hector, Naima, Hailey and Dakota; one great grandson, Dylan; his brothers, Jerry, Gary, Ismail and baby brother Patrick; one sister-in-law, Kendra Griffin.
