Biography: O’mighty God and his wise divine providence saw fit to call labor to reward our dear beloved Beatrice M. Mason. She departed this life on Friday, July 26th, 2019 in New York City. Beatrice was a faithful servant to the Lord until her death. Beatrice was the loving daughter of the late Clara and Eugene Smith, Sr. Beatrice attended the New York City Public School System in which she graduated high school. Beatrice joined her late husband Frank Mason in matrimony on November 8th, 1936. Beatrice worked and retired from Goldwater Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide. Beatrice was the matriarch of her family, and as the matriarch, she lovingly nurtured and provided for her family or anyone who needed her. Beatrice also had a great sense of humor.
Beatrice had three brothers, Eugene Smith, Jr., Reginald Smith and Daniel Smith all who proceeded her in death. Beatrice had five children:one loving daughter, Judith Mason-Grant and four sons, Kenneth Mason, David Mason, Charles Mason and Mingo Kenny Mason who all preceded her in death as well. She also had two grandchildren who proceeded her in death, Mingo Mason and Cheryl Mason.
Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory: granddaughters, Charlotte Mason, Denise Mason and Desiree Brown; grandsons, David Mason, Jr., Dale and great grandson, Mingo Mason, Jr.; six great granddaughters. Beatrice spent her final years living with her niece-in-law, Barbara Gager and great grand nephews Michael Martin and Keith Harris. Beatrice also leaves to mourn her passing her very loving close friends, Adell Williams, Patricia Peters and Patricia Lewis as well as a host of family and friends.
