Doreen Eunice Howard-Young, better known as “Gran”, passed away on January 7, 2020 at the Wayne Center for Nursing Rehabilitation. Doreen “Gran” was born on January 10, 1927 to the parents of Lilian Howard (deceased) and Stanley Hoyte (deceased) of Wilson Hill, St. John, Barbados.Doreen was married to Carl Young (deceased) and of their union they had three children: Idona Molly (deceased), Christopher and Pauline Howard.She migrated to America and was employed as a home health aide until her retirement thirty years ago.In Doreen’s spare time she enjoyed watching CSI, Criminal Minds and SWAT. Her favorite quote was “a swear”. Gran’s love was an unselfish and endless love that no one could explain. She was a hard worker and a provider.Doreen “Gran” Young leaves to cherish her memories: children:Christopher and Pauline Howard; daughter-in-law, Angela Howard; grandchildren: Sherrieann, Stephen, Lamia and Gary; great-grandchildren:Kevin, Chelsea, Amber, Madison and Anya; great-great-grandchildren: Hailee and Payton. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends to remember and cherish her memories. She was Gran to all and will deeply be missed.
