Biography: Leola was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lillie Mae Thomas. Leola was born March 24, 1939. At an early age she accepted Christ in her life at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. She later joined New Mount Zion Baptist Church.
 
Leola received her elementary education at PS 5 in Harlem. She graduated from Central Commercial High School in 1956. She
continued her education at City College and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Reading. She held various jobs in the education department.
 
Leola was employed with Sharpio Law Firm for a long time. She loved people; no one was a stranger to her. She loved to talk and cook. One of her favorite things to make was sweet potato pie. Leola did many things and in her life, so much so that I can’t name them all.
 
Leola was preceded in death by her sister Rosetta Thomas.Leola leaves to cherish her memory: Ernest Jr., Louis, Rosetta,
Abraham (Dawn), Cody, Luetta, Jack David (Tomiko), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.  
 
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and light until my path.A good job well done Sister Leola.
 
If God had to give more, he would give patience, more love,understanding, wisdom, faith, Holy Ghost, courage and grace. He knows we had all of that because Jesus gave it to us a long time ago.
