Buster “Doc” Williams

Buster “Doc” Williams

09-05-1944 - 11-12-2019

Biography: Buster Williams was born on September 5, 1944 to the late Mr. Willie Williams Sr. and Abbie Council Williams in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The youngest of six children, four of which preceded him in death (James “Sid” Williams, Carrie Lee Witherspoon, Edward Williams, Willie Williams Jr “Bozo,”) his surviving sister Polly Green.

Buster Williams was a skilled labor man who knew how to work with his hands. Making pictures, paintings and shoes. However, his true specialty was working as a Body & Fender repairman and painter. All beginning at Russell Buick & Lotus and progressing to a family owned business in the Bronx.

Buster was a strong man, so full of character. He lived life to the fullest. Telling jokes and making people laugh. Always outspoken, Buster made sure everyone knew how he felt and what he was thinking. A simple man. A man that loved his wife and his children. A short robust man. A man with a quick temper.  Unafraid, and willing to battle if needed. Buster was also a man with a hearty laugh so contagious you couldn’t help but laugh along with him. A laugh and a sense of humor, I believe each of his children inherited.

Buster was a man who spoke to any and every one. Sharing any advice or stories he felt fit the mood. An outgoing man who loved to spend time with his friends and family. Buster loved fishing, playing pool, and playing different card games. A night owl man. A man who enjoyed his libations, listening to music and telling stories. He also enjoyed his sports; whether it was going to a game, watching it on TV or playing it on the Wii.

Whether it was being outside or staying indoors, Buster Williams enjoyed being part of the action. Unlike his wife, my mom, who is quiet. I recently overheard my mother on the phone saying, she lost the one man she truly loved. May we all be so lucky to find our one true love.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 33 years Janie Fuller Williams, sons Ronald and Bryan Williams, daughter Latasha Fuller, twins Trina & Travis Lee, stepdaughter Theresa Fuller, surrogate son Anselmo, adopted sisters/nieces Ruth Ann Sivels (Claude) and Dorothy Mae Hall (Robert). As well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
