Biography: Shelley Parker was born on September 5, 1964 in Harlem, New York to the late Rosanna and Johnny Spivey.
As a child, Shelley was very interested in studying fashion. She loved trendy clothing and was always fashionable in a way that inspired others upon arrival to any event. She attended The High School of Fashion Industries in New York City, graduating in the early 80s. After graduation, she began a career as a banker.
Shelley's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to cook and took pride in knowing that she was truly loved and appreciated by her friends and family. She was a strong, independent woman who will be remembered for her big heart and great sense of humor.
During the evening hours of Monday, September 9, 2019, Shelley went home to be with the Lord after ongoing health complications. She is survived by her beloved sons, Jonathan and Christopher, two daughters-in-law, Tishelle and Sasha, her older sister Kimbel and brother-in-law Carlyle, her three grandchildren, Justyn, Jordyn, and Dallas, mother-in-law Lillian, three sisters-in-law Bertha, Edith and Elizabeth, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Landy Parker and younger brother Tracey who will welcome her to heaven with open arms.
Shelley will be gravely missed, but we take comfort in knowing that she is at rest.
