Biography: Queen Buie was born in Stillmore, Georgia to the late Stillmore, Georgia to the late Clarence and Bertha Buie on March 2, 1939. She was preceded in death by two sisters Parrish McKethon and Pauline Posley; two brothers James and Johnny C. Buie.
Queen attended Elementary School in Stillmore, Georgia and she graduated from Emanuel County High School in Swainsoboro, Georgia in the year 1956.
Queen was fortune to obtain employment at Woolworth as an accountant. After this business closed, she worked at the Young Adult Institute until she retired in March of 2017.
Queen obtained a certificate from New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, which afforded her the opportunity to managed her building for eleven years.
Queen accepted Christ at an early age, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Stillmore, Georgia. After relocating to New York, she joined The True Gospel Tabernacle Church. She then served as superintendent of the Sunday School Board. She remained a faithful member until her illness.
Queen enjoyed sewing and humming. She also enjoyed eating shrimp and broccoli and chocolate Hershey bars.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, one daughter, Chandra Buie; two brothers, Carnell (Floretha) Buie of Tampa, Florida, Wallace (Monica) Buie of Englewood, California; one sister-in-law, Barbara Buie of Tampa, Florida; four sisters Alberta Murphy of Rahway, New Jersey; Mary Buie of Bronx, New York, Peggy L. Hughes and Eloise Huston of Stillmore, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
