Biography: Mary Hunt was born on October 22, 1923 in Albany, Georgia to the late George Williams and Estella Chatman. Mary had one brother, the late Robert Lee Williams.
On Monday, November 16, 2020, Mary passed away.
Mary attended Shenley High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mary moved to New York City where she attended the Central School of Practical Nurses. She graduated in November 1970.
Mary worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Bronx Municipal Hospital for many years until her retirement.
Mary loved fashion and was an excellent seamstress. Most of all, Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband Nathaniel visiting nearly every state in America. They also traveled to many foreign countries including Japan.
After Nathaniel’s death, Mary continued to travel with friends; visiting South Africa, Egypt, Italy along with her daughter to many other destinations. Mary liked to say “Don’t let age stop you”.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memories: her daughter Brenda Russell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandsons, Dorien Russell, Eric Russell, and their wives: Lenita and Crystal of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandson Steven Russell and his wife, Jennifer of Lake Meade, Georgia; sister-in-law Winnifred Williams of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Godson Keith Scarborough of New York City; great-grandchildren: Amber, Asia, Sierra, Brionna, Steven II, Andrew, Dorien, Eric Jr., Eric Oliver; great-great grandchildren: Bailey,Amani, Milan and Eric Michael Jr.
