Biography: Ruth S. Ham was born on April 19, 1929 to Darlington Stukes and Eva Stukes in Sumter, South Carolina. She was seventh of eight children born to this union. She attended school and graduated from Morris College all in Sumter, South Carolina.
Ruth worked as a teacher in Sumter. She met and married Joseph Ham and they relocated to New York City. She continued working with children when she moved to New York City. Ruth and Joseph had two sons Joey and Darryl and Joey had one beloved daughter named Kevonna. Kevonna continued the family line and had two children Jannae and Sydney.
Ruth S. Ham loved to travel. She loved returning to Sumter and would travel multiple times a year. She enjoyed her family reunions on both sides of the family. The reunions took place all over the United States. She also loved her family history she could tell you all about the history of her family she passed this on to Darryl.
Ruth was saved and loved the lord. She was a dedicated member of Mount Neboh Baptist Church in Harlem under the leadership of Reverend Johnnie Green. She truly loved her church. Ruth was truly a strong woman.
Ruth was preceded in passing by her siblings Samuel, David, Willie, Mitchell, James, Alvin, Martha her beloved husband Joseph, her two sons Joey and Darryl and her granddaughter Kevonna.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her two great-grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and dear friends.
