Biography: Randy Rodell Brooks was born at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York. He was born to the proud parents of Trevor and Cleo Brooks on April 8, 1974. Randy was the youngest of three: his oldest brother, Gregory, preceded him in death.
Randy was raised in the Lexington Houses in East Harlem. He attended elementary school at P.S. 198 and later graduated from Humanities High School. During his elementary school years, Randy sang with the 92nd Street Y Chorus. He later auditioned to become a member of the Harlem Boys Choir, under the leadership of Mr. Walter Turnbull.
Randy could be described as a hardworking member of society , usually working two jobs regularly. Some of his early employment was with security and later landed various Doorman positions, which he took pride in and enjoyed. He was a BIG political enthusiast and could debate anyone about politics. He was also a huge sports spectator.
Randy touched many lives and will be missed. He leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife LaToya; stepchildren: Jamel Brown and Jayquan Brown; loving mother Cleo Brooks; sister Sharon Brooks-Mobley (Ralvin); niece Shaunna (Gary); nephew Christopher; grandnephew Brandon; three uncles, one aunt and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
