Biography: Charles Edward Beasley was born to Estelle Travis and Charlie Fred Beasley on April 21,1949 in Beatrice, Alabama. He was baptized and joined Morningstar Baptist Church at an early age.
In high school he played football, basketball and baseball. He loved playing and watching all sports. He even played on the neighborhood softball team on Amsterdam Avenue and was one of their power hitters.
He came to New York and learned all that New York City had to offer. When it came to making a dollar, he was on it and learned many skills to make it. Charles also worked briefly at Nedicks and was a top chef at Sherman’s Barbeque.He was blessed with four children, Tiffany, LeSher, Charles Jr., and Sherman Jesse.
A man of many skills, humor and jokes he was a real conversationalist. He knew stuff most folks didn’t know, - but he knew. (smile). At home CB loved to watch old westerns such as Gunsmoke and Bonanza.
Charles (CB) loved to play cards and Skin. In life he had been dealt a few bad hands but it never stopped him from continuing on with life n fun. He still loved being out and about.
Whether you called him Charles, CB, Champ, Pops, BayBay, Bo, BoBo, BoBee, BC, Tester, Sorry Man, or an affectionate What’s up MF he was a man full of life and surprises. Nothing stopped him or kept him down.
He leaves to cherish his life and memory by his love, Sherry, four children, Tiffany, LeSher, Charles Jr., and Sherman Jesse. One granddaughter, Janelle, one sister, Harriet, his only niece LeShonta and her son DeSean, two aunts, one uncle, and more cousins and extended family and friends than you can count.
