Biography:
Deshawn Kevin Gaddy was born on February 17th 1995 to Shawn Kevin Gaddy and Georgia Ann Shinaul. Deshawn was a dedicated father and lifelong residents of New York City. He died unexpectedly on March 11, 2021 at the age of 26.
Deshawn graduated from Bread and Roses High School in 2013. He worked for New York City Housing Authority as an equipment operator. On June 21, 2018 and November 10, 2019, respectfully, he welcomed his beautiful children who were the most important part of his life.
Deshawn was a devoted father and amateur avid football player. He also enjoyed dancing, shopping and traveling as well as hanging with his friend Tommae McLaughlin. Deshawn left a variety of friends that eventually turned into his brothers. He also was a problem solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and home. He was a protector for those he loved.
Gaddy was a spiritual man in the Nation of Islam within in the Muslim Community which involved many activities. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and those that knew him.
He is survived by: his parents Shawn Kevin Gaddy and Georgia Ann Shinaul; Girlfriend Jayne Cornelius; his children’s mothers Tyasia Rowell and Quintasha Richardson; children: Princetin Quinn Gaddy and D'Ari Ahnale Gaddy.
He also leaves behind: brothers Shamar Shinaul and Carlos Shinaul; sisters: Shatesha Johnson, Sheamara Kemble, Shonette Gaddy, Kaliesha Gaddy; nieces Zafira Shinaul, Mia Johnson, Sanii Douglas, Saige Douglas and Paige Fryer and one nephew Xavier Jones; Uncles: Robert Shinaul, Louis Cook, Jr., Leroy Shinaul, Lucious Holloway and Marion Gaddy; Aunts: Dorothy Holloway, Hattie Shinaul, Gracie Pelt, Sherrisse Shinaul, Josephine Cook and Katrina Gaddy; cousins: Tara Holloway, Aisha Shinaul Stores, Angela Shinaul, Janay Williams, Jeffrey Williams, NaShay Stores, Anthony Stores, Richard Stores, Jewel Cook, Terrell and Taquisa Turner. Godsisters: Natasha Johnson Hawthorne and Justina Gilliam; and one godbrother Willie Bowman III; godmother Kim D Evans.
He was preceded by his brother Kenneth Kemble, grandmother Roxie Shinaul-Cook and grandfather Louis Cook.
