Biography: To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Time to be Born...Barry Bashawn Michaux was born to Sandra Hamlett and Kendall Brown on January 31, 1984 in New York City.
A Time to Live.....Barry came into this world earlier than expected but nonetheless made his grand entrance in 1984. His mother met and later married Robert Paulling who loved and accepted Barry as his own son. From this union came Barry's sister Jenay Paulling who he cared for and loved very much. Prior to his untimely passing he was due to attend his sister’s wedding.
Barry attended Mount Carmel Catholic Elementary School and Ralph Bunche, P.S. 125 where he excelled in academics. It was at P.S. 125 that Barry discovered his love for chess as well as track and field. He won numerous awards, medals and trophies.
In 1996, he moved to Georgia where he attended Miller Grove Middle School followed by Redan High School. Barry would return to New York in early 2000s attending Washington Irving High School. Unfortunately he left before graduating but he would later achieve his G.E.D.
We would sometimes kid him as being a geek because he was into taking things apart and putting them back together. He also tried his skills in karate. He enjoyed playing basketball which was one of his favorite things to do. He used to say, “I am going to be a track star” after attending the Olympics held in Atlanta in 1996. Until his passing, he was attending a program to help get ready for college and a job. He also made checking on his grandmother a priority.
A Time to Mourn.... Barry went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2021. He is now with his loved ones, rejoicing, laughing and being his loving self.
