Edward T. Durant (aka Ron & Eddie), 56 years of age, passed on Monday, June 21, 2021 at St. Luke’s-Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Edward was born on May 4th, 1965 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Ethel M. Brown. He was raised in New York by his mother and step-father Mack H. Brown. He had five siblings Sharon, Tishell, Kirk, Mike and Tiffany. Edward attended LaGuardia Community College and New York City Technical College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree.
Edward professed his life to Christ at an early age. He attended and served as member of World Changers Ministries led by Pastor Creflo Dollar and The Word Center Church, led by Prophet David Stranger and Evangelist “Mother” Alver Cody.
Edward loved volunteering in the church, cherished praising the Lord and praying for people he met. He served on several committees and always enjoyed helping others. Edward worked over 30 years at Long Island College Hospital (LICH) in the positions of Patient Transporter and OR Technician until the hospital closed. He took much pride in his work providing the upmost service and care to LICH patients. He went above and beyond the call of duty at any time to offer a listening ear, kind words of encouragement and prayer to patients and co-workers. He was well liked, respected and appreciated by his management team and colleagues. A few years following hospital closure, Edward started to have health related concerns.
Edward loved reading his bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family/friends, traveling, dining-out, laughing and always having a smile on his face. He was a loving and caring person, devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know him was to love him.”
