Kevin Sumpter came into this world on July 3,1957 to the Union of Harriet Sumpter and Walter Peels. He was the second of five sons. 

 

Kevin Sumpter was a native of Harlem but moved to The Bronx with his Mother and Siblings when he was a pre-teen.  He attended Benjamin Franklin High School and graduated. Kevin attended Bronx Community College. While attending College, he was employed by several Law Firms and Corporate Companies. His final job was as a MTA employee for The City of New York for several years. 

 

Kevin enjoyed current events, Education, outdoor activities and events, style, design, gourmet cuisine, wine, home decor, family, reading, music, movie of substance, theatre, dining, and loved traveling. Also loved the younger generation. He was “Uncle Kevin” to many of us. 

 

What was there not love about Kevin… He was kind, loving, caring, loyal, supportive, resourceful, fearless, courageous, determined, and understanding, good, a beautiful soul. His untimely and unfortunate death will leave all who sincerely knew and loved him, sad for all time. 

We all know that Kevin didn’t like sadness. He liked happiness, feeling good, motivation, and Inspiration. So family we will mourn our beloved Kevin, but when we do. We’ll also remember the brightness he gave all of us. Kevinsk……Kevinski…. Kevinski… u will be deeply missed but we will always remember the happiness and love you gave us all. 

 

Kevin Sumpter departed this life on Monday January 24th, 2022. He leaves to cherish his stellar memory three brothers: Curtis Sumpter of Silver Springs, MD, Andre Sumpter of Willamatic, CT, David Lerone Sumpter of Pompano Beach, FL and Allen Luis Sumpter of The Bronx, NY. Two Sister in Law: Maxine Sumpter of CT and Sherry Thomas Sumpter of Pompano Beach FL. Four Nephews: Andre Sumpter Jr of Texas, Lerone Sumpter of Bronx, NY, Allen Sumpter Jr (AJ) of Manhattan, NY and Devon Sumpter of Maryland. Six nieces: Nicole Sumpter Codrington of Queens, NY, Ashley Sumpter of Bronx, NY, Taylor Sumpter of Pompano Beach FL, Anyai Sumpter of Manhattan, NY, Angela Sumpter of Texas and Chanel Sumpter of Silver Springs, MD. Six Deeply Close Cousins: Valjean White Ferguson of Manhattan, NY, James Losey Jr. of The Bronx, NY, Myron Green of Brooklyn, NY, Grace ( Gracie) Baker of Maryland, Mark Matthews of Manhattan, NY and Katorah White Satterfield of Manhattan, NY. Along with a host of dear relatives and friends!
