Ella Mae Limehouse was born on January 17, 1931 to Moses and Rebecca Limehouse in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She attended the public schools in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
Ella relocated to New York City, met and married Samuel A. Thomas in 1950. From this union, she had three children: James, Andrew and Delores all of whom were great company and welcome additions to their older Brother Joseph.
When her children grew up and eventually branched out on their own, she worked for the Park Lane Hotel as a housekeeper for many years until her retirement.
Ella’s love and generosity to her family, friends and neighbors knew no bounds. She was deeply spiritual and she was right with the Lord. She was one of the sweetest, kindest, loveliest and spiritual person you would ever meet.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Samuel A. Thomas and two children: Delores and Joseph.
On Saturday, January 15, 2022 she was called to rest. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: two children: James A. Thomas (Sharon) and Andrew Thomas (Sharon); sister Marilee Norton of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; Jean Flenory of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
