Biography:

William Rodney Drayton was born on February 24th, 1964, to Marva and the late William Drayton. William was the eldest of two sons, big brother to Keith. William grew up in the Lincoln Projects. After attending Graphic Arts high school, William attended SUNY college at New Paltz. William was a member of the Original Harlem Gauchos Basketball team. Later, he became one of the coaches of this great team. In 1992 William secured a job with The New York City Board of Education as a Paraprofessional. He worked there for 30 years.
 
William was an avid book reader of many categories. William also enjoyed almost anything sports.... Wrestling, Football and of course Basketball. William was a diehard New York Knicks fan and was never seen without his Knicks fitted on. Some of this was watched with his Glackens Family. William was known to enjoy a good cocktail from time to time. His favorite libation was rum and coke. William was known as muscles, Bill, Sleepy and affectionately known as "Pookums" by his mother.
 
William could be found at various cookouts and fish fry’s. He even tried his hand at zip-lining. William loved a good game of dominoes, debating and a good party. He was just an all-around good person. He was as witty as he was humble. The world needs more of that.

On January 30th, 2022, William passed away. He leaves to mourn, his Mother Marva, His brother Keith (Lynette) His sister April and his niece Karlyn. Aunts, Evelyn and Dolly, Uncle John and a host of cousins, his Glackens family, Tommy Sr., Tommy Jr, Mike, Patrick, LaShawn and Mike Dash.  His Drayton family, his Battle Family, his Lincoln family (The Throat Cutters), His Drew Hamilton family and a host of many friends and colleagues.
