Sister, Momma, Auntie, Nana, Grandma, World-Wide Evangelist, Mother, Overseer Geraldine Ferebee, was an Anointed, Holy Ghost filled, Fire Baptized, Praying woman of God!
Geraldine Lilly Ferebee was born on October 17th , 1945, in Camden North Carolina to the late Virginia Lois Cox Ferebee and James Alexander Ferebee. Geraldine Ferebee was the third of eleven children. She had seven brothers and three Sisters: Annie, James, Pernell, Alvin, Vivian, Paul, Regina, Anthony, and twin brothers who deceased during infancy. In 1964 she moved to New York City with her two brothers Alvin and Paul Ferebee. She soon started work in a factory. Later Geraldine was entrusted as a caretaker for many families, single mothers, and fathers to help care for their children as well as the elderly. Her family moved from Camden, North Carolina to Elizabeth City, North Carolina where she would frequently visit. She Loved to be with her family as it was never a dull moment with the Ferebee’s.
At the young age of 24, Geraldine was invited to church by Mother Frederick whom she worked in the factory with. Upper room deliverance church is where she experienced her first encounter with the Holy Spirit also accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. She has been a soldier in the army of the Lord, henceforth fighting the good fight of faith. There She joined the usher board and became a member of the choir. Geraldine Ferebee received spiritual gifts and many impartations through the hands of God’s anointed vessel, the late Willy J. Williams. These gifts include the word of wisdom, knowledge, healing, deliverance, prophecy, and discerning of spirits. Her gifts of God were used to help God’s people and His leaders.
Although she had many titles “Mother” is the name she was affectionately called by many who knew her.
Mother Ferebee had a deep and committed Prayer Life, a true Payer Warrior. Her relationship with the Lord has enabled her to be a mother, a Mentor, a Counselor, and a Friend to many people from all walks of life. Her Evangelistic Ministry started with The Prison Ministry on Rikers Island, NY, The Women’s Prison in Manhattan, and The Children’s Detention Center in the Bronx, NY, where she helped impact many lives for Christ. One of her greatest contributions to the Body of Christ and people in general has been her giving and loving spirit. She has literally fed the hungry and clothed the naked, provided shelter to the homeless.
Mother has prayed for the sick and they were healed, travailed for souls on their death bed and they arose. She has orchestrated numerous Evangelistic Outreach Crusades to win the lost to Christ in parks, neighborhoods and communities across the east coast. She continued to minister every opportunity she was given in every place God sent her. Mother Ferebee has been a great help to pastors, leaders and stood with them to fortify ministries through her prayers, presence and support in countless places all around the country.
Mother Ferebee has served under Christian Temple with honorable Bishop Space, Gods Anointed Church, Prayer Warriors Deliverance Church with the late Bishop Paul Ferebee, frequently fellowshipped with United church of Deliverance and a plethora of ministries worldwide.
Mother Ferebee was ordained as an Overseer in 2019. With her church, Flight to Freedom Worship Center in New York City, under Bishop Darren Jenkins and Pastor Tonia Jenkins. Mother Ferebee is an Overseer to churches both nationally and internationally.
Mother Geraldine Ferebee went home to be with the Lord on February 1st, 2022. She leaves behind one Son Michael Ferebee, one Grand Daughter Loretta Ferebee and one Great Grandson Jemari Thelusma, Sister Regina Spence, Brother-in-Law Valry Spence, two Brothers Alvin Ferebee, Anthony Ferebee, Sister-in-Law Annette Ferebee, Sister in laws Delores Ferebee, Annie Ferebee, and Tiny Hicks. a host of nieces, nephews, God Children, and a host of spiritual sons, daughters, and grandbabies.
Mother Geraldine Ferebee will truly be missed, she is deeply loved and one of the most authentic women her family and friends knew. Mother had a heart of gold, and her smile brightened the room. She always encouraged someone and most importantly, she was not ashamed to stop what she was doing to lend a hand, an ear, a smile, a prayer or just tell you “I love you baby”. The family would like to thank all those for their prayers and continuous support, as Mother would remind us “Jesus is on his way back, get your house in order” so we can all rejoice with her again!
