Frederick Vaughn Jenkins was born in New York City to the parents of Richard Vaughn and Helen Lillian Jenkins Jr. on July 22, 1957. He was the fourth of five children. Frederick attended elementary school and junior high school in Harlem, NY. He graduated from Louis D. Brandeis High School in 1975. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army. When he finished serving in the military, he received an Honorable Discharge as an Airborne Ranger. There after, he decided to attend John Jay College in New York City and received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He later received a Masters Degree from Memphis State University in Psychology. Frederick was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Harlem, NY.
Some time after attaining his college education, he met and married Lynn Jenkins who has proceeded him in death. In 1984, Frederick began working for NYC Human Resources Administration as an Eligibility Specialist and then as a Child Protective Worker. He left his employment with NYC in 1991 and moved around until he settled in West Palm Beach, FL. He then began working for the state as a Child Protective Worker and left to work as a School Guidance Counselor for high school until his retirement due to health reasons.
Frederick enjoyed discussing religion, philosophy, sports and politics. He was creative, adventurous, funny and enjoyed debating people on various topics. Frederick touched many lives and will be missed dearly. He leaves to mourn his three sons Jason A. Jenkins, Frederick V. Jenkins, Jr., Emanuel Jenkins, his grandson Jason A. Jenkins Jr., his only surviving sibling Leigh Jenkins, his sister in law Donna Jenkins, his aunt Robyn Carmona and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The Jenkins Family thanks everyone for their prayers and condolences.

I've known Freddie since childhood on 143rd Street in Harlem New York. I also had the pleasure to serve with him in the U.S.Army in Panama. He was an outstanding solider. We played together laughed together and solidered together. I will always remember my Good Friend Freddie.
