Biography: Orsby Wroten Jr., son of the late Orsby and Jean Wroten was born July 13, 1954 and was the oldest child born to their union. Orsby was fondly known as "Butch." He entered eternal slumber on August 21, 2022 after a brief illness.
Butch was educated in the New York Public School System and furthered his career by becoming a Certified Master Electrician. He worked for the private sector for over 30 years. There are quite a fefw stores along 125th Street displaying the work of our beloved brother. He was also known as "Mr. Fix it."
On October17, 19871 Butch married Annette Nee Miller and from that union, James Wroten, his elder son was born. Butch was another son whomheloved dearly,Christopher Wroten.
Butch spent the past 25 years with his Common Law Wife, Vanessa Cooper. He was a father figure and mentored to; Munch, Sha-asia Shanta, and Bobbie, along with their six grandchildren.
As a young adult, he toured with the Chi-Lites and was a percussionist for LaRoc Bey Dance Company. Butch was talented musician. Butch loved and cherished his community serving as the Vice President of Grant Tenant Association. He has truly been a father figure / mentor to countless young adults within his community. He would have yearly barbecues for family and friends, and all were invited. His kindness, generosity, and loving spirit will bemissed by all that, knew him. He was one of a kind! The out-pour of love has been exhibited throughout the community since his passing.
Orsby "Butch" leaves to cherish his loving memory; his loving Common LawWife Vanessa Cooper, Annette Miller, Sons; James and Christopher, Daughters; Munch, Sha-asia Shanta, Bobbie, and six grandchildren. Two Sisters; Barbara Wroten and Linda Kelly, One Brother; Anthony Wroten, and Janet Wroten (sister) who preceded him in death. One God-son, Chinky, and one aunt. Butch also left a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
