Techu U-Dwi Jackson Brown, affectionately also known as “Eggi” ( a nickname given at birth by his mom), was born in New York City (Harlem) to the proud parents of Patricia Jackson and Robert R. Brown on March 17, 1981.
Free-spirited and adventurous as a youngster, he enjoyed running, playing basketball and dancing to music. It could be said that he was destined to be in the music field, for at a young age, he auditioned and was selected to be a member of the Boys’ Choir of Harlem. As a member of the choir, he performed for dignitaries, elected officials (Pres. Bill Clinton’s First Inauguration), on Broadway (Boys’ Choir of Harlem on Broadway) and featured on the “Malcolm X” soundtrack.
He was also a proud member of the Order of the Feather Fraternity at Minisink. Techu aka “Raj” (a nickname given to him as a pledgee for he looked similar to the character from What’s Happening), shared a special bond with his line brothers/Featherman. They stayed connected throughout the years.
Techu was formally educated in the NYC public school system. Upon graduation, he worked in the fields of shipping and security.
These were special moments in his life, but the greatest accomplishment was being a father to his children. In that role, his wisdom and intellect instilled values for which they will carry on. His legacy continues, as he is survived by his sons and daughters, Techu Jr, Isis, Osiris, Dontaye, Marie Lily and Shenique.
Although he leaves behind 6 children, his mom, Patricia, sister Mary, aunt Beverly, brother- in- law John, brother Trevor and a host of other relatives and friends, he will never be forgotten.

I knew Techu when I first started in the Boy's Choir of Harlem at the age of 11yrs. We were classmates, and although it took us a min to connect as children, we clearly became closer like brothers when I crossed into the Order of the Feather Fraternity (1997). We kept tabs on each other as we became ad adults on Facebook. This was very shocking and gut punching to hear that he passed because I hoped to see him before that time. I'll miss you bro. Sleep in peace King....
